Smaller pets we care for at our clinic include rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and hedgehogs. We offer vaccination and wellness care to exotic pets.

Annual Examinations

It is important to have your pet examined by a veterinarian at least once per year. As pets get older their needs change to ensure their peak health. Your pet will receive a thorough examination by one of our licensed veterinarians. Our staff will communicate with you to help you understand what the needs of your pet are. For prevention and early detection of health concerns your pet should be examined at least once per year. For older pets we recommend twice per year examinations.

Emergency Care

In any emergency, every moment counts. If you have an emergency with your pet our staff is ready to respond. Our staff is trained in administering the ABC’s of basic life support: Airway, Breathing, and Circulation Compressions. Emergency care is offered during normal business hours. If this is an after hours emergency, we have affiliations with local veterinary emergency hospitals.

Laboratory Services

Our hospital has a well-equipped laboratory allowing us to obtain answers about your pet's health quickly and efficiently. Our facilities provide for hematology, serum chemistry, urine analysis, and parasite testing. We also have the power to utilize laboratories from around the country including: Michigan State University, the University of Minnesota, Veterinary Allergy Reference Laboratories (VARL), and Antech Diagnostics.

Millersport Small Animal Clinic utilizes digital radiographs (XRAYs). Use of XRAYs allows our veterinarians to evaluate your pet’s cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, muscular-skeletal, reproductive and urinary systems.

We have the capability of performing abdominal ultrasound examinations. The use of our ultrasound equipment allows us to gather diagnostic images which provide an internal look into your pet's health. If your pet is expecting little ones, ultrasound gives our veterinarians an internal view on the well-being of the litter.

Nutritional Counseling

All animals benefit from a well-balanced diet. Some pets even require specialty food. Often it is difficult for a pet owner to develop a nutritional plan on their own. Our knowledgeable staff is available to help you choose the right diet keeping your pet happy, healthy, and active.

We carry a full line of prescription diets by Hills. We have the ability to consult with the veterinarians at Hills regarding specialty foods and treats for certain conditions.

Illness doesn’t always apply to the physical well-being of a pet. Our veterinarians will help you determine if your pet has a behavioral disorder. Behavioral disorders include:

  •     Obsessive Behavior
  •     Territorial Aggression
We work with you, the pet owner, to develop a treatment plan for your beloved four-legged friend.

Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the industry leader in microchip products. We use the best because these products are the most effective in ensuring a safe recovery.

There comes a time when it is necessary for your pet to move on to the next step. We understand how difficult this event can be. We work with you to ensure the utmost care and dignity when it is time to say goodbye. Please ask our staff for further assistance.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special
to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone
from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
